Bad news from OZ again

Featured Replies

At 15 he has many years to enjoy the 12 (or how many it is) virgins offered for his services.

Too bad he didn't survive to suffer the fate of the British boy sentenced to live in Jail for his part on the attempted/planned ANZAC day attack.

Where are the parents in all this?

The gunman who shot dead a New South Wales police civilian employee was a 15-year-old radicalised youth of Middle Eastern background.

The lone shooter killed the employee as he was leaving police headquarters at Parramatta in Sydney's west around 4:30pm yesterday.

The offender then fired several more shots at officers as they emerged from the building to respond to the incident.

He was killed when the officers, who are special constables, returned fire.

White Christmas 13

You are one good lookin' shiela!

Are you an Aussie by birth?

The British boy has been jailed for life but with a minimum term of only 5 years only

The five years is irrelevant. That's merely the minimum sentence he must serve, there is no guarantee that he will ever be released. The lifetime sentence is the relevant part.

In serious cases, youth criminals in the UK are almost always transfered from the youth prisons to adult prisons before release - even if it's only for a couple of weeks ( happens around age 21 ). Lifers then go onto lifetime parole, with recall always a serious threat. All the criminals I know detest parole.

My reading of this case is that it's unlikely this boy will ever be released. There are background aggravators which have put him into a severe risk category.
