Where To Stay On Koh Chang

Featured Replies

trying to decide where to take my parents at Xmas.

Ko Samet too busy, been most places else and have 2 one year old kids as well.

We like semi quiet, good swimming and good food (as in seafood bar b q's), with enough life to be able to walk to a decent bar for drinks etc.

not Phuket people, not Pattaya either. Would reckon Lanta but I have just returned from there and it is still messy and dirty (as Phi Phi is)

So any help on a good place in Ko Chang?

cheers if you can help

I will be going this Wednesday at KOH CHANG (my 2nd time) and will stay at Koh Chang Kacha Resort and Spa at White Sand Beach. It seems like a very nice hotel.

I will post my reviews when I get back.

Back from Koh Chang, stayed at Koh Chang Kacha Resort. Our room- superior villa - was nice although a bit old and needs some furnishing, it was overlooking the beach/sea. Unfortunately, the swimming pool is under renovation from some damages of strong rain last month. I think it will be open again on 16th Oct. The resort provided guests to use another swimming pool of nearby hotel. The staff were very friendly and tried to make our stay as pleasing as possible esp. with the bad weather. They answered to our requests promptly (we asked for DVD player and got it right away). The ABF was okay-- pretty much the same everyday. Restaurant food was average, would reccommend to try other restaurants nearby.

Koh Chang has changed since I went there 3 years ago.. more new hotels and building more. The weather right now is not soo good, raining most of the time. We rented a jeep to go around the island and we liked Bang Bao fishing village at the end of the island. It has a lot of cheaper seafood restaurants compared to those in White Sand Beach. So if you want really good/tasty and cheap seafood-- drive down to Bang Bao village.

Overall, I liked the resort (would have been better if the swimming pool was open) and would stay there again should the weather is pleasant and pool open again.

take a look @ www.koh-chang.com a nice webside with plenty of info.

Panviman resort. Not on the main beach but beautiful with nice rooms including dvd player, waterfall in the giant bathtub. Separate shower, patio with nice furniture, big rooms, nice king size bed. pool is great with swing over the beach (2 palm trees provide) Pool will get crowded early that time of year however.
