DDPM says flooding remains in three provinces; authorities are ready to aid disaster victims

BANGKOK, 17 October 2015 (NNT) - The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation reports that authorities continue to provide their full assistance to people as flood waters remain in three provinces.

Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Director-General Chatchai Promlert said heavy rains in various areas have caused three provinces to remain flooded.

Those provinces are Prachinburi, Nakhon Nayok and Nakhon Sawan.

However, no rains have hit the three provinces lately; therefore, flood waters are expected to recede and the situation is expected to return to normal within 1 to 2 days.

The department is also working with the army as well as other related agencies to ease the situation.

Authorities are continuing to monitor weather conditions in various areas throughout the country. Mobile units, along with aid equipment, are ready to be dispatched to help people in case of further disasters. Disaster victims can call Hotline 1784 for assistance.
