Tropical Storm Koppu will not affect Thailand

BANGKOK, 20 October 2015 (NNT) - Those planning to travel to the Philippines from October 22 – 23 are advised to consult the weather forecast, as Tropical Storm Koppu is set to make landfall in Taiwan.

Koppu will likely cause adverse weather conditions in the Philippines as it moves across Taiwan. However, the storm will not have any impact on Thailand.

Thailand is forecast to have a high pressure system in the upper regions that will bring scattered rain. Morning fog has been seen in certain parts of the North and Northeast.

Meteorologists have also forecast that Thailand will experience 20% rainfall across the country today, except for the southern provinces.

Heavy rain has been forecast in more than half of the South, due to northeasterly and southwesterly winds in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea.
