“Friendly” check of bars by Pattaya Police as School Holiday begins



PATTAYA: -- 100 Police Officers took part in what was described as a “friendly” check of Bars and Pubs in the 3rd Road area of Pattaya, which is popular with Thai patrons.

Police Colonel Sukthat, the Pattaya Police Chief, led the operation, in the early hours of Thursday and checked many bars along Pattaya 3rd Road, well away from the Tourist Entertainment areas.

The reason for the operation was to check to see if any teenagers were frequenting the bars, as many schools are currently on mid-term break. It is illegal for patrons and staff under the age of 20 to be inside a Bar and after exhaustive checks Police were unable to find any offenders.

Friendly means that fat brown envelopes were prepared in advance, and collected without incident.

There should definitely be a law against that weird ginger colour they use to dye their hair.

That's a common Beatles poster. Must have been for a US tour! Nothing unusual about that. Many non-American singers and bands use the stars and stripes when on tour in the US.
