Migrants on trawlers arrested over girl's murder in Ranong

RANONG:-- Two more migrant workers have been arrested for alleged roles in the murder of an 18-year-old female student in Ranong's Muang district. The men were arrested on fishing trawlers off the Phang Nga coast on Friday night.

The development follows the arrest of another migrant worker who reportedly confessed to having stabbed the girl in an isolated alley while high on glue.

He reportedly told police that he and three friends were sniffing glue at the alley's entrance on September 28 when they encounter the girl and an argument erupted before she walked on.

Police believe the motive for the killing could be the argument, robbery or related to sex. They are looking for the fourth suspect identified as a migrant in his 20s.

On Friday police found what is thought to be the knife used in the attack at a mangrove forest 500 metres from the scene of the murder.

DNA blah blah blah..

DNA blah blah blah..

They found the murder weapon 500 yards away in the mangroves. Do you think they just happened to be searching there by luck?

Atleast one of the guys in custody spilled the beans.

No need for DNA.

That is one possibility. Another is that police planted the evidence so they knew exactly where to find it. Ring any bells?

If the crime was carried out by a connected local the above scenario will be played out.

Sad that the police here have trashed their reputation to such an extent that any comment they make is 100% worthless.

Oh dear...

RIP

Note to self never walk near migrants who smell of glue or are playing foreign music.

I'll take DNA over "confessions" any day.

If the DNA testing is carried out by an outside agency that is.

Way outside.

If possible on a different continent.

Outside testing of DNA by an independent agency does not amount to squat if there is a break in the chain of evidence.

What is so hard for TV'ers to grasp about four glue smelling transient guys freaking out and killing a girl ?

Like ai said earlier, you guys are bored to death with your lives over here and your minds are really playing some nasty tricks on some of you.

A: Not bored at all. Job keeps me fully occupied.

B: After the whole KT debacle with retracted confessions, allegations of force being used to extract said confessions (in effect torture) and the subsequent discrediting of the whole DNA evidence I wouldn't trust the BIB further than I could shit them.

They may well have the right people but because of their corrupt, incompetent, inept and fraudulent history it would be crass stupidity to accept at face value anything they say.

OK Blues. Now I remember you ;-)

I am just not seeing a big conspiracy in this article or in the outcome of events.

But whatever floats your boat.

Have a good one.

Police believe the motive for the killing could be the argument, robbery or related to sex. Anyone care to throw some more theories into the hat?

I watched the details on a TV police cases programme. It was, robbery, rape and murder, with such vengeance the girl was left hacked to pieces in a pool of blood.

Trying to find a rational motivation or a solid memory of events by a group of chronic glue-sniffers is a wasted effort.
