flyDelight
Meeting a girl for the first time in KhonKaen next month. Any insider suggestions for joyful places to spend time together? Prefer small/intimate, no tube lights, no big crowds or noisy but something like a cozy Italian style pizzeria? Is there something like that? Suggestions will be much appreciated, thanks! nev
Next to the Pullman hotel there is a small Italian place that does excellent pizzas and pasta called Pomodoro, and it is very intimate and quiet.

Great, I appreciate your reply and will check it out! Excellent location also. According to experts here don't expect any meaningful conversation. I speak and write fluently Thai so don't worry me, but thanks.
tartempion
Higher up in the food chain would be the Vietnamese restaurant on the first floor in the Pullman, top quality and very intimate. (Not ground floor or lobby floor thus) Edited October 26, 2015 by tartempion
tartempion
My second choice would be the ground floor restaurant at the Pullman (18.00h buffet) Pommodoro is an OK Italian restaurant, but intimate and cozy? Not really.

JLCrab
Well, if it isn't too late, I would go for the Pullman but the Chinese or Vietnamese restaurants on the 2nd floor -- not the main floor buffet or restaurants in the basement near the Kronen Brauhaus micro-brewery
lungbing
Again, if it's not too late, then may I suggest "The Green Leaf" on the road which leads to the airport.
flyDelight
It's not too late I'm in KK the last week of November. What kind of place is this? Again, if it's not too late, then may I suggest "The Green Leaf" on the road which leads to the airport.
JLCrab
Out by the airport On weekends often large Thai family groups. Not 'intimate'. http://www.greenleaf-restaurant.com I'll stick with my recommending 2nd floor restaurants at the Pullman 'Saigon' or 'Loong Yuen' not the lobby Pavilion or basement Brau Haus. http://www.pullmanhotels.com/gb/hotel-1877-pullman-khon-kaen-raja-orchid/restaurant.shtml
flyDelight
What is the price range of that place? Out by the airport On weekends often large Thai family groups. JLCrab
I do not know. Only was at the Loong Yuen as a guest for a Chinese New Year lunch Buffet this past February at about 800 baht per person ++. I was at the Pavilion lobby evening buffet a few weeks ago and that came to about 1000 baht per person with the ++ and a couple of water bottles. But the LY would be the coziest/intimate of any recommendation you have received so far. Edited October 31, 2015 by JLCrab
nev
Pullman way over priced and then they add the tax on top, many better places in khonkaen and better value for money.
