Does anyone know if you can still buy multiple entry viasas in your own home coumtry b4 enterign thailand. Im Irish and it is possible to buy up to 4 multiple entry viasa for 60 days each in the Thai embassy in Dublin. After 60 days you must do a visa run to the border and upon entry another 60 day visa will start, so with this you can legally stay for 240 days. Will this be affected now that the new visa rules have come in. I spend several months of the year in Thailand with my partner who is Thai. How wil this affect my travel there in the new year?

Should be alright once you have the visas. Think the rules are more to do with the 30-day visa on entry stamps.

You could always try for a non-imm 'O' multi on the basis of visiting friends out here. A mate has done it twice now from the UK (not sure how lenient they are in Ireland). Letter of guarantee from parents, post off passport with £90 and hey presto - 12 months turns into 15 when you come in on the final stay just before expiry.
