Any good short story MP3s to get better at listening to English on MRT-BTS ?

Featured Replies

My friends daughter is learning English at University , the usual problem is that her teacher does not speak English as a first language , so her written English is very good but spoken English is OK .

Are there any short story MP3s she can download and listen to on the way to school ?

Something that will keep her interested and not bored , but will help her speak and listen to English..

Books on tape are probably too long , it would more be "Short Stories on tape"

Any ideas ? American English is a plus

Tons of them come up on Google, many kids today would get bored of them though.

A girl I knew enjoyed Skins, a TV series with English subtitles on Youtube. Helped her English a bit.

There are apps to download them, if 3G isn't strong enough to watch them on the go.

It's the equivalent of Thai series Hormones, teenage drama.

I think screw stories. "In Our Time", which is arranged by topic, is a free university of the air. She'll learn a bucketload about everything as well as the language, and BBC pronunciation to boot.
