Nighttly Burning Cables

Featured Replies

We have a problem since three month in a otherwise very safe and comfortable area (Prathumnak, Pattaya). This is like the best area of Pattaya with big, luxury condos and houses but still some small land areas with jungle like this problematic spot ( 12.911573°, 100.857492°). Some (not anymore)homeless people have start living on this land, and almost every night they burn (probably stolen) cables, drink a lot, fight a lot and now they got electricity and play annoying music from the morning until the night. Many reports to the police, to city hall have been filed but no effect. The worst is the black smell from the burning plastic witch have scared some people to move out. Any suggestions of what to do?

Correction-was the best place in Pattaya and obviously not now for you. You can't do much except file a complaint if they are breaking the law

NCPO Thai government. 24 hour Call Center 1111 http://www.1111.go.th/

They deal with any and all complaints related to anything and everything.

Noise, schools, retailers, builders, police or anything else.

I just rent, but would hate to loose the deposit and the time involved in moving.

... they burn (probably stolen) cables ...

Probably burning off the outer plastic to leave the metal inside for resale.

I'm sure that 1111 will have a go at them, if informed.

maybe your landlord can help if he sees his renters leaving?

Numerous reports to tourist-police, normal police and CityHall have already been made by several people. My friend who is Thai belies that the people staying in "the small jungle" have some agreement with the landlord "i think they pay big money to stay there". We also have other indication that the landlord is involved, and of course his or hers identity remains a mystery.

A brown envelope can do miracles in Thailand.....

Ask around as see if anyone can put you in touch with the mafia thahaan. You will need to pay but they will sort out the problem.
