BANGKOK, 4 November 2015 (NNT) - The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security has released caravans to promote its childcare subsidy program across Bangkok.

Social Development and Human Security Minister Pol Gen Adul Saengsingkaew chaired the event to deploy the caravans. He also presented aid money and necessities to the first five families that registered for the childcare subsidy program.

The project aims to help financially-disadvantaged women, who are scheduled to give birth between October 1, 2015 and September 30, 2016. Those eligible for the subsidy must be Thai nationals or have Thai spouses who earn less than 3,000 baht per month, live in poor conditions, or have no access to other forms of government welfare.

Participants will receive a stipend of 400 baht per month for one year. The program is available for registration from city halls and local administrative offices across the country from September 15, 2015 until March 31, 2016.

Around 10,000 people have signed up for the ministry’s program so far.
