BANGKOK: -- Thailand is ranked the 82nd as most creative among 139 countries with a global ranking of 38th in technology, 84th in talent, and 105th in tolerance, according to the Global Creativity Index 2015 compiled by the Martin Prosperity Institute.

The study rates and ranks 139 countries worldwide on three parameters, the three Ts of economic development—talent, technology, and tolerance.

Thailand is 82nd on the global ranking, but the sixth place among eight ASEAN countries in the study, ahead of only Cambodia (113) and Indonesia (115). Singapore is 9th on the global positioning.

Of the three Ts, Thailand ranks best for technology (38), talent (84), and worst for tolerance (105)

Thailand ranks behind Singapore (9), Laos (42), Philippines (52), Malaysia (63), and Vietnam (80).

Australia was found to be the most creative, with a global ranking of 1 in talent, 4 in tolerance, and 7 in technology.

The United States is ranked second while being 3rd in talent, 4th in technology and 11th in tolerance.

New Zealand came in 3rd, as it was 3rd in tolerance, 7th in tech, and 8th in talent.

The Martin Prosperity Institute (MPI) at the University of Toronto conducted the study with the aim of deciding which of the 196 countries of the world is the most creative.

Using what they dubbed the Global Creativity Index (GCI), researchers defined creativity as the “three T’s”: talent, technology, and tolerance.

Technology rankings were based on investment levels in research and development, plus how many patent applications per capita each country had.

Talent was evaluated by using a composite of the percentage of adults who owned an advanced degree, as well as the percentage of the workforce that had jobs in the creative industry.

Rankings for the third factor, tolerance, were found based on how each country treated their immigrants, the diversity of the racial and ethnic minorities.

To obtain their rankings, the researchers analyzed 139 countries, with many countries of low economic status being left off the list as complete data couldn’t be sourced, and ranked them in each category.

Overall creativity was determined by each country’s ranking across the T’s, then divided by the total observations made in each category patent applications per capita, creative-class measure, etc.

I would bet the Thai news is making this report actually sound good. As a country who thinks they are the hub of almost everything these standings show the world that they still have very far to go even just to equal other Asian countries. What a shame for the education and Buddhist teachings.

With the interim blah blah blah alone, that ranking should be near top 10. When you add those drafting bodies - It would be unbeatable.

In my analysis ..Called "Chill Out - Be Happy" ...Thailand is still the Number 1 country on earth...

Ma Pen Rai - Is the best attitude which the west terms as Chill Out Bro.....

There goes the dream of achieving the Nobel Price. Who would have expected that?

Can't be long and negative rankings will be banned from publication.
