serendipityfox
I currently have 1 light in bathroom, to add another light and a extractor fan - all on same circuit and switch- all i need to do is splice the three cable together (in a pigtail) at the junction box, right? The lights and fan are all on 2.5 wire, all within 1.5m of the fusebox
Crossy
I depends upon the the style of your existing light, but the easiest place to break in to the circuit is usually at the light itself. Drop the fitting off the ceiling and there should be space to slide your connections into the ceiling space. It will have two wires to the lamp, these are the wires you need, simply splice your new light and fan black-black and white-white. The switch will then operate all three together. If you're not confident in what you are doing, please get a local sparks in, they should all be capable of adding your extra devices. IMPORTANT Don't rely upon the light switch to isolate the power when working, switches here are often in the neutral and will leave the wiring live and lethal when 'off'. Turn off your main breaker before starting work.
