Thailand attends 12th ASEM meeting

BANGKOK, 6 November 2015 (NNT) - Thailand’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Don Pramudwinai attended the 12th Asia-Europe Foreign Ministers' Meeting (ASEM) in Luxembourg, which was also attended by representatives from 51 countries to discuss cooperation in sustainable development.

In his speech, Mr Don affirmed Thailand’s support for tangible and beneficial cooperation between Asia and Europe and said that Thailand will draw from conclusions made in a previous meeting in Bangkok to contribute to continued efforts to enhance cooperation between both continents.

Thailand also took the opportunity to raise the issue of irregular migrations in the Indian Ocean, calling for relief efforts to be made before the new wave of migrants is expected to begin after the monsoon season.

And a soon to released statement will no doubt say something along the lines of "all members of ASEM fully understand the transition Thailand is going through and gave resounding support to the Thai government and it's proposed road map", said nobody.
