CNX - which hospital for orthopedic surgery?

I did speak to the doctor.

Living in Fang, visiting his surgery late etc makes it a logistical nightmare.

McCormick was the only hospital which provided quality service.

When I obtain the name of the surgeon @ McCormick, I will post details on this thread.

Can't you stay in Chiang Mai for a couple of days to get it all sorted out?

I will if I have to. At present, I need more information. Then, off to CNX.

Incidentally, I am amazed by this interest in this thread. Why?

Because we've read your posts over the past few months about your broken leg and are concerned.

Also, because many of us have had first-hand orthopedic experience and know who to recommend. McCormick doesn't show up on anyone's list, frankly.

If you want to see Dr. Charnakarn during "business hours" you can see him at Rajavej Hospital, which is priced similarly to McCormick.

You're being a little foolish make your choice based on how nice the staff at the hospital will be to you. For something like this, you should be making your selection based on recommendations of a specific physician.

I have spoken to Dr Charnakarn on the phone.

As per my previous posts, no firm decision has been made.

As yet, I do not know the name of the doctor at McCormick - nor his experience.

Because we want to see you get it right, otherwise we'll have to put up with your bellyaching for the next six months (joking of course). laugh.png

I can only call it as I experienced it.. RAM worked miracles on my wife (skull, cheekbones, eye orbits, teeth, facial nerves, eyeball, eyelids etc.. all saved) and my own compounded leg and wrist / hand bones..

Superb.. and while I do think you wait a lot for outpatient services, considering the prices.. The inpatient care was faultless..

Said it before, I bargain shop for many things, emergency medical care is not one of them.

Whoa, good on ya.

He was just lucky. the hospital had nothing to do with it. The doctor was the one who did it. I had an X-ray taken there once on a previously broken foot. Two doctors in Canada had told me do not do any thing as long as I could stand the pain. Doctor Sudhee here in Chiang Mai when he had his clinic took an X-ray and advised me the same thing. He said it was incredibly difficult and in 40 years he had only seen it done once.

To get back to the Ram the Doctor I saw then was ready to check me in and operate on it right then. Here I am 8 years later and still have not had that operation. As I say he was lucky he could have got a really bad doctor and his story would not be the same as it is now.

Too much confusion. What to do?

I am off to see the head honcho @ the local wat. There is nothing that this monk doesn't know about anything.

Moreover, he is the local witchcraft specialist.

My confusion will soon be over.

fang37 -- there you go! You've hit on the right solution. See the local witchcraft specialist. He could probably advise you about what to do for your visa extension as well. I don't know why you bother with us here on ThaiVisa.

Thank you for the tip, Nancy L. I will seek advice about my visa shortly.

Why TVF? You are all such nice people. cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif
