Would these bikes be allowed in Thailand.

Featured Replies

If a refugee would like to leave Russia, and enter Norway he/she would have to travel on wheels.

That means they will have to buy a bicycle in Russia. 90% of the refugees buy new bicycles.

In Norway they have now destructed 3.500 mostly new bicycles. The reason they get destructed is that Russian bicycles have 1 brake, and in Norway by law a bicycle have to be equipped with 2 brakes.

Could these bicycles be used in Thailand. Would thai law accept bicycles with just 1 brake?

Is that a troll?

No, Troll was the only Norwegian produced car.

That yellow one looks like it could be nicely restored.

Oh!

Start an 'Add-a-brake' business there!

That's a lot of bikes.I use to enjoy riding. But it seems nearly everywhere you go now just to much traffic.

Not where I stay, when I ride my bike which is most days, I hardly see any traffic.

blink.png What would be the problem to add 1 brake to a bicycle?

And who in Thailand, or Asia or Africa would care.....Destroying them is a political act as they are aggressive towards Russia....Else they could export them to Lao, Cambodia, all over Africa, South America, etc etc

And still be cheaper than the Chinese cr@p. I doubt it !

now they are price zero (metal price) if you would add a cheap Chinese cr@p brake....that would be cheaper than a complete Chinese cr@p bike.

But yes I can't imagine any other than 3 world country as possible market....even the shipping from Europe might be more expensive than China send some bikes direct.

Those bikes are legal in Thailand, but who would ride them?? Thais don't want/need them for transportation. Most of those bikes are junk.

If the Norwegians shipped them to Africa they would probably be put to good use there. But as someone mentiuoned earlier destroying them may be a political statement by the Norwegian govt against Russia. Too bad they won't do the humanitarian thing.
