German Pedophile Says Bail Lost in Translation

Khmer Times/Tin Sokhavuth

Udo Sabiniewicz, a 56-year-old German national, was denied bail after being arrested and charged with indecent acts against minors under 15 years old in June. He has been detained in Prey Sar prison since June 16.

Mr. Sabiniewicz was arrested in Chbar Ampeou district after police were informed that he allegedly had sex with more than 10 Cambodian boys under the age of 15.

The bail requested by Mr. Sabiniewicz was rejected by Phnom Penh Municipal Court last week but his official trial date has been set for November 24. According to the decision issued by Judge Heng Sokna last Friday, Mr. Sabiniewicz did not submit enough medical evidence to justify the health issues he outlined in his request for bail.
