Phuket’s LHM thrives in supporting struggling boutique hotels

PHUKET: -- As the current tourism high season in Phuket unfolds, many of the popular boutique hotels and rental accommodations on the island are taking advantage of the range of expert hospitality services offered by Phuket-based LHM Asia, known in full as Luxury Hotel Management.

Founded in 2013 by Jorge A. De la Torre Koch and François Xavier Miel, who together have more than 20 years of strong experience and background in hotel management and sales and marketing, LHM offers services ranging from online sales and marketing to property management to outsourced financial services support to human resources, recruitment and training.

“Boutique hotels, being much smaller than their international-franchise counterparts, often do not have the full range of skills required to take full advantage of the business opportunities their properties offer,” explained Mr De la Torre.

“In Phuket there are more than 2,000 properties and every year more and more open, which creates difficulties for many hotels to succeed.

“Phuket is a top worldwide tourism destination. Many people invest and/or are interested in opening a hotel, serviced apartments and so on, but do not have always the experience, networks and expertise to succeed in the long term.

“Hiring an outsourced sales consulting company such as LHM helps them to secure their business, save money and time,” he added.

Over the past year, business has boomed. In 2014, LHM Asia grew tremendously in response to high demand from hotels and resorts in need of income generation.

“Now LHM is handling a portfolio of more than 23 properties, including hotels and resorts, boutique hotels, luxury villas, serviced apartments, and more,” said Mr De la Torre.

What a shameless piece of hardcore nonsense. JORGE USED TO BE THE OWNER OF A Mexican RESTAURANT UNTIL IT Went bust, then he sold Panama hats with his ex wife, and now he is experienced in hotel management? Nobody has ever heard of LHM, much less of a guy called 'Jorge or Miel' Can we keep this serious please?

Hotelier with 25+ years of Thailand experience.

SOP in asia - open one successful hardware shop in an Asian street, and soon the whole street is full of less successful hardware shops.

Ever seen a whole street of Undertakers supplies shops?

Going to have to agree here. If being a hotel F&B manager and then running out on monies owed when multiple restaurants go bust makes you a hotelier for 25+ years, well, then I guess I'm Bill Gates!
