The campaign dubbed ‘Yen Sood Sook Tee Loei’ is expected to boost tourism for the province. According to Loei Deputy Governor Sanae Nontachot, there are nearly 100,000 poinsettia trees grown over five rai in Phurua, where the event is held. Visitors can also enjoy beautiful lanterns at night.

Mr Sanae added that Loei is another province in the North East that remains abundant in natural resources and rich in its cultural traditions. In addition, the province is an attractive investment destination due to its geographical proximity to Laos.

Loei is the largest producer of Christmas trees in Thailand. It earns 200 million baht annually from poinsettia sales alone. The number of tourists is expected to increase by 20% this year, raising tourism revenue to 3.5 billion baht.
