US sending new special ops force to fight Islamic State

WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. military will deploy a new special operations force to Iraq to step up the fight against Islamic State militants who are unleashing violence and are determined to hold territory they have seized in Iraq and Syria, Defense Secretary Ash Carter told Congress on Tuesday.

This week PRD’s ‘Music in the Garden’ honors the King

BANGKOK, 2 December 2015, (NNT) – The Government Public Relations Department (PRD) is scheduled to hold its weekly ‘Music in the Garden’ event at its auditorium in Soi Ari area, Bangkok, on Thursday (December 3rd, 2015) from 4:00-8:00 p.m.


This week’s concert, which is the 48th in its series, will honor His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of His 88th Birthday Anniversary on the 5th of December. The concert will feature well known Thai singers namely Santi Lunpae, Rungrudee Pangpongsai, and Dr. Supachai Pongsawat along with artists from the PRD band. They will sing numerous musical compositions especially those written to honor His Majesty the King. The event promises to be the most enjoyable one.

‘Music in the Garden’ will be held at the PRD Conference Hall in Soi Areesampan, Rama 6 Road, Phayathai District, Bangkok; beginning at 4 p.m. Thursday. Admission to the concert is free.

Proposal to set up nuclear plant in Malaysia not finalised, says minister

Australian abducted in Pattaya found dead in Sattahip

SATTAHIP: -- The abduction case involving a former Australian Hells Angels Motorbike Club member, became a murder case in the early hours of Wednesday following the discovery of a body, thought to be that of the victim, in a 2-meter-deep grave in Sattahip.

The Cabinet approves transnational crime prevention framework

BANGKOK, 2 December 2015 (NNT) - The Cabinet has approved the transnational crime prevention framework for the year 2015 – 2021.


According to Prime Minister’s Office Spokesperson Maj Gen Sansern Keawkamnerd, the framework was proposed by National Security Council and will serve as a guideline for the country to deal with current transnational crimes.

A transnational crime prevention committee will be established to oversee details of the framework, while a sub-committee will be appointed to facilitate its implementation.

The Cabinet has also approved a budget proposal by the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, which will aid farmers affected by natural disasters from March last year to June this year.

They include flooding, drought, pests, crop disease, storms, and fires.

VIDEO : Sondhi gets one year sentence for defaming MR Pridiyathorn

BANGKOK: -- Former leader of the yellow-shirt People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) Sondhi Limthongkul was today sentenced by the Supreme Court to one year in prison after finding him guilty of defaming the former finance minister in 2007.
