KANDAL – A man was killed after he was shocked by a battery in a rice field Thursday morning in Khsach Kandal district. Police said the victim is 45-year-old farmer Jay Chheourn.

Police said Mr. Chheourn placed an electrified wire connected to a 70-amp battery around his rice field in an attempt to keep rats away from his crops at night. At 1 am on Thursday, he was preparing the wire, but he slipped and fell on it. Mr. Chheourn was electrified and died at the scene.

Geez, poor guy. RIP.

Thought shock wire was to shock and not to kill. Humans and bigger animals I mean. Something wrong with the voltage?
