Nearby fishing boats managed to stop the Na Pornprasit from sinking completely.

PHUKET: -- Two Thai and four Myanmar nationals were rescued by marine rescue teams yesterday (Dec 7) when their fishing vessel started to sink off the coast of Phuket.

Lt Col Panya Chaichana from the Marine Police received an emergency call at 3pm from Thanee Sookkho the captain of the Na Pornprasit fishing boat who said that water was leaking into the engine room of the boat and that it had started to sink three nautical mile off Kata Beach.

He reported that there were six people on board.

Royal Thai Navy Third Area Command, Karon Beach Tourist Rescuers and Marine Police were immediately dispatched on longtail boats, dinghies and speedboats to assist the fishing crew.

From the full story .....

The boat owner contacted other nearby fishing boats who attended the scene and helped stop the Na Pornprasit from sinking completely before taking it to Patong beach.

I have to wonder what is the definition of 'before sinking completely' - looks well sunk to me.

So they towed a half sunken boat to a tourist beach.

Made me think. Great way fro slaves to get free. Hole the boat near other boats or shore. Get rescued and donot go back .Donot do in open sea but around other boats near shore would be fairly certain to get rescued.

Kill 2 birds with one stone. Get free and sink a slave boat.
