Thailand gun death rate TWICE as high as US

It ain't the gun that does the killing! No more than it was the knife that did the killing of that guy on Pahonyothin a few weeks ago over the Ipad, or that guy machete that killed that family recently, or the hoe that did the killing on Koh Tao, or the psycho that slit his girlfrinds throat on walking street, or the baseball bat that beat that biker to death recently in Pattaya, or........

The US is pretty high up in death by guns with about 60 % of them being suicides. Another stat the US drops significantly in gun deaths if 4 cities with strong gun control laws would be deducted from the US total those cities would be Chicago, Washington D.C., New Orleans and Detroit. Those long time bastions under progressive control aren't the safest places in certain sections where drug gangs operate.

That's just silly. Guns are a cowards way of killing, as they can do it from a 'safe' distance.

With a knife you must get up close and personal with your intended victim, who may be able to turn the tables on you.

Most Thais are cowards, especially if alone.

The numbers are hopelessly skewed all the way from the initial reports of a death through the multiple classification filters applied by the powers-that-be in each country. The only people who believe a statistical report are those whose viewpoint is supported by that report

they usually forget to mention that thailand has an undeclared war going on down south that adds a significant volume to the numbers. whereas in the US its just drugged out religious gun freak loonies gone berserk.

so in thailand you can make reasonable attempts to avoid getting shot whereas in the US you just never know when or where the next drugged out religious gun freak loonie is going to snap.

Plus having guns around in the household makes the possibility of an accident happening between family members just as likely or even more so than protection against an intruder or assailant.
