webfact Posted December 11, 2015 Share Posted December 11, 2015 Thai banknote wins Best Regional Banknote of the Year 2015 awardThe NationBANGKOK: -- Thailand's new Bt1,000-denominated banknote is awarded the Best Regional Banknote of the Year 2015, jointly with New Zealand's latest polymer banknote series.The co-winners of the High Security Printing Asia award were announced at the event in Jakarta on December 8, organised by Reconnaissance International.The award recognises outstanding achievement in the design, technical sophistication and security of a banknote or banknote series, the key judging criteria being that successful banknotes should combine visual artistry and high levels of technical and security sophistication, with considerable emphasis placed on reflecting the cultural heritage of the issuing country in the note, and the relevance of the overall design and symbolism to the issuing country, according to Reconnaissance.Reconnaissance is a global source of business intelligence on holography and on authentication for document security, personal identification and brand protectionThe awarded Thai banknote is the fifth and final note to be issued as part of the country's Series 16, which went into circulation in September 2015."The series were launched in honour of His Majesty the King, to tell key royal projects of Thai kings.
