October 11, 200619 yr Dear Posters, I have just arrived in Hua Hin after living in BKK for the past 6 years , boy it feels good to be here. I am an avid Spear-fisherman but with there being no dive sites around this area, I have decided to try my hand at golf instead, making the most of this great fresh air. I was wondering if anyone using this forum is or knows an instructor. I have never golfed before and I would like private classes, early morning if possible. I was also wondering where are the busy spots aronud town, I know that the Hilton and the Soital get fairly busy but what about good quality bar/restaurants? One las thing I can't find a Gym that closes around 8pm, if anyone could recommend a place that would be great. Thanks in Advance Craig

Don't know about gyms but I think some hotels have them but a bit expensive I guess. FYI, I happened to meet and chat w/Sam in the pizza place and found him to be very sociable and very good command of English. Have a look at www.huahinafterdark.com Good forum w/lots of residents on it, its not a nightlife forum despite its name.
October 14, 200619 yr Hilton Hua Hin Resort and Spa just re-opened last Wednesday after renovating its m-floor and turned it over a nicer fitness centre. The gym's close by 9pm. I used to be a member. They provide yoga in the morning, aerobics classes in the evening, and some water sports throughout the day at the pool. By becoming the member you get 20% off from their outlets. As for men, you can use sauna room. I'm not sure if that's changed after the renovation. I didn't go to the re-opening because I was stuck in BKK. Oh..as far as I know from their release, they still offer squash and tennis facilities. The membership per month used to be 2200 baht but it's cheaper if you apply for a 1-year membership. However, you need to check if the prices have been changed after the renovation. Enjoy!
