kandi
A few months back, I've read about a new regulation requiring people to show his or her passport (foreigners)/IDs (Thai citizen) when mailing a package abroad. My question is: Based on your experience, is this being applied in Bangkok at the moment?
Denim
Not in my experience. Perhaps some places require it but most seem to treat the rule with the same veneration and respect as the crash helmet law or prostitution law. In Thailand there is a law for everything like in the west. However it seems that at least 50% of the laws are only there to provide a veneer of civilization without any of the actual substance of the thing. Tywais
On Thaivisa News from June. There is only one post by a member saying he was informed 2kg or more. I have not found a formal source stating this. - Parcel senders are required to show ID cards or passports
briley
When sending something that is under 2Kg it is rare to use parcel post, air mail or small package is cheaper. So if you only need a passport for a parcel this would tend to be when over 2Kg.
