Cooler air until early January

BANGKOK: -- Thailand's upper regions will experience cooler conditions from today until early next year with temperatures falling 4-6 degrees Celsius, according to the Meteorological Department.

The fall in temperatures, starting first in the Northeast region, was caused by the arrival of another round of strong cold air mass from China which has now blanketed Thailand’s Northeast, and is extending to the upper region.

This cold air mass will result in the drop of temperatures from 4-6 degrees until January 3.

For the conditions on hilltops in the North, the cold air mass could cause frosts in some hilly areas.

The department advised people in these regions to take care of their health by keeping their bodies warm.

Meanwhile the declining temperatures will strengthen the Northeast monsoon which is blowing across the Gulf of Thailand, and the Southern region.

Waves as high as three metres are expected in the southern sea.

Fishermen are warned to sail into the sea with caution, or to anchor on shore until after January 3.

Temperatures for the North will be around 17-21 degrees, while on hills around 6-13 degrees, for the Northeast around 15-18 degrees and on hills around 12-15 degrees.

For Bangkok, temperatures will fall 1-2 degrees to 23-24 degrees Celsius at minimum at night and 33-34 degrees maximum at daytime.

How can 33 or 34 degrees in the day in Bangkok seriously be considered winter ? In Chiang mai we are sleeping with a sheet and the fan on.

This week its been hovering between 31 -33 most days.Gets cooler about 2 am and on goes the doona.I dread the thought of summer just around the corner.

El Nino you have a lot to answer for

I would love it a little cooler here in Jomtien but I am not complaining.

It doesn't seem to do any good. tongue.png

Sorry state of affairs when 33-34 is considered a cooldown.sad.png

Send blankets now....

How long will it take for someone to call a national emergency and start handing out this years blankets.
