I would like to read your views dear Expats

I recently posted the question and received many differing answers or views, I have just returned from a trip to immigration in Maesai Chiang Rai Border of Myanmar.

The supervisor was quite clear about the rules, and he regulated my son’s passport.

(No fine)

He told me to reenter Thailand with a normal visit visa, and then I need to go and apply for an extended stay. This applies until age 14 when My Son can then get Thai nationality, and of course also travel on a Thai passport.

I made the point that I could apply for a Thai passport now? The officer told me yes, but to stay within the correct law. I should make this extended stay, for his British passport. I am now even more confused, I can get a Thai Passport but I should still declare my son as a Foreigner, its all TIT to me.
