I think it is a long-shot but maybe someone from the German community in Chiang Mai has an idea. The artists names were Theo Meier (I am told that he was relatively famous before he died). It is believed his widow Mrs Meier runs a guesthouse in the city and Gerd Barkowsky also an artist who also died some years ago but left a Thai widow.
