V.I.P

Featured Replies

What is it that Thailand has with V.I.P? It is everywhere from parking, lifts, seating, transport and buses, shopping, etc etc. I know everyone wants to be important but that is hardly the idea of V.I.P. I can not imagine anyone important going on a V.I.P. bus from Bangkok to Udon. Just an observation!

Thais love English words/phrases/abbr. to make an impression.

They believe to be of a better class if they know/use it.

V.I.P. parking lot is so good for the ego.

But I doubt that too many know what V.I.P. is in full text.

Its kind of schizophrenic:

On one side they believe to be the greatest people under the sun not needing any foreign advice.

On the other hand foreign language terms are popular for something special/worthy.

I often read it as Victim in Process rather than Very Important Person.

All depends on who sits in the seats or tries to exploit the perks...........................wink.png

Should have seen the eighties and early ninties when VIP police escorts were way way out of hand.....All you had to do was no someone and pay.......

I often read it as Victim in Process rather than Very Important Person.

I always read it as, Very Insecure Person.

It's all part of the insecure hiso 'face' culture, just smile and carry-on, TiT. rolleyes.gif

Everyone wants to feel important, but no one wants to feel (seem) important like Thais do.

When you see a VIP parkinglot then show your white face and they probably let you park there.

"Schizophrenia is a severe brain disorder in which people interpret reality abnormally. Schizophrenia may result in some combination of hallucinations, delusions, and extremely disordered thinking and behavior. Contrary to popular belief, schizophrenia isn't a split personality or multiple personality."

!0 years ago, when i met my missis, she asked me if I came on the Very Idiot Person bus.

See them at traffic lights, too important to wait for green. Very impatient person.

See them with their hazard lights on when trying to parrell park. Virtually impossible parking.

Finally, see them pull out in front of you then crawl along with their bent elbow out of the window looking ridiculous. Very impolite pillock.

I always see it at Swampy as not having to wait inline with 10000 other people to get in and out the airport quickly, ie off the plane clear customs and get in the Mercedes driven limo with a sensible driver not a mad Taxi Kamikazi and home to central Bkk in 30 minutes without having to even carry a bag, thats after a 13 hour flight without some brat kicking the back of your chair and cramp from being squashed in, instead lie flat beds and some peace and quiet.

I worked foooking hard for 40 years to get it.

Have u answered yet?laugh.png

A few months ago we saw a truck carrying a load of pigs heading to Bangkok. On one of the back doors of the truck was a sticker... VIP. Have never seen the truck since but do look out for it when we're travelling around to have another laugh.
