CDC prepares to explain draft charter to public

BANGKOK, 22 January 2015 (NNT) - The Constitution Drafting Commission has been preparing to explain the details and clarify any doubt related to the draft charter to the public.

CDC spokesman Chatchai Na Chiang Mai said on Thursday that the charter drafters have continued reviewing individual article of the new draft Constitution to verify the accuracy of the wording and the connection among different sections while making additions to perfect it.

Mr. Chatchai said that the CDC has agreed with the suggestion from Chief Advisor of the Democrat Party Chuan Leekpai about the extension of the voting hours to 5 pm from the usual closing hour of 3 pm, in order to facilitate the voters and go more in line with modern technology.

He added that the CDC meeting also discussed reports of political parties’ movement to oppose the draft charter and agreed to listen to more opinions and step up efforts to clarify doubts to the public.

I read the previous draft Charter. The new one is supposed to have fewer chapters.

Even so, it would take weeks of study to actually understand the Charter. So understanding is really not possible.

Instead, there should be a concerted effort to uncover: The Top Ten Most Egregious Flaws.

And make sure these are well traveled on social media.

I think the previous rejected draft was longer. However 261 pages http://www.reuters.com/article/us-thailand-politics-idUSKCN0UY13E is still too long, and more than the average citizen can be expected to read and comprehend.

It's safe to assume that the junta will not allow anyone to speak, print, or post any kind of analysis that isn't in the form of an endorsement, so voting for it will be an act of faith in the junta.

Short explanation: This 261 page constitution is confusing and we won't let anyone but junta spokesmen explain it too you and we don't care if you reject it because that lets us stay in power longer.

shorter explanation: It's a turd and we will make you swallow it whole. We hold the reins of power even if you puke it back up.
