British woman dies on Spanish holiday island, husband held

MADRID (AP) — Emergency services on the Spanish Balearic Island of Mallorca say they were called to attend a woman who appeared to have been strangled with a cellphone charger cable but were unable to save her life.

The resort island's Urgent Medical Care Service said it received a call at 3:20 a.m. Saturday from a man who said he had killed his wife in the western town of Costa de la Calma. Local police and ambulance services found a 49-year-old British woman in cardiac arrest with bruising on her neck, but were unable to resuscitate her.

The news agency Europa Press said police began an investigation and arrested a man of British nationality. The detainee will be held in custody before appearing in court Sunday or Monday.

....wow.....

This happens not infrequently...another reason I've always thought marriage was over-rated.

was he fed up with his wife or frustrated with his cell phone

More proof that cellphones are bad for your health.

I think his roaming days are at an end.

Probably wanted to get down the bar but his wife wanted to wait until her phone battery was charged, tragic but understandable.

Android, iOS, Windows or BlackBerry?

The coast certainly was not a calming effect on this couple.
