buying property who's name

recently i bought a house in my child's name it wont be her's until she reaches 20. im now considering buying another, half in my child's name and half of it in my wifes name would this stop either of them selling it without the approval of the othe? , the idea was to get the wife and the 20 year old daughter to sort of police each other
