tuanku
This would barely make the news in Glasgow, Manchester, Los Angeles, Rio, Moscow, Tokyo, Melbourne. Shows what a quaint old fashioned society we live in that people get excited about a story like this.
khun custard
Gosh, a corkscrew, that a very sophisticated piece of kit for a bar in Thailand with "entertainers" From the descriptions provided, I would have thought one of those wooden dildos would have been more the weapon of choice. mickba
Why don't they just say Jomtien instead of Banglamung? Doesn't Jomtien have a special resident who doesn't like it to be associated with such activities ?
Dogbreath
This happened on the main road just before you turn onto Beach Rd in Jomtien. The reporting is getting more and more sanitized by the day. All to save face. Don't the ThaiVisa readers have a right to know where unhinged bar girls are stabbing each other so they can avoid the place ? Nothing to see here folks, just move along. Basics of reporting. Who what why when and where.
JHolmesJr
I wonder if the accused will ever work another pole in her career. I guess she's done….wait for the headline…..Old Brit/French/Swiss man corkscrewed in genitals on Beach Road at 2am.
SiSePuede419
Nice that the OP threw in some prison slang? 'Shank' originally meant 'leg bone' and is a golf term. The standard verb is 'to stab'. She stabbed her with a corkscrew. Yeah, I guess if you were in prison, you might say "She shanked her", meaning "She used an improvised knife to stab her"... But we understand. But usually we don't use prison slang in day-to-day English,

jamhar
Sound like a fun pair of gals….Im strangely turned on. You're not missing much, believe me. It's a 4th rate place even on a good night, and the old tarts girls that work there are usually Vespas. Best thing about it is the music videos they play - all your favourite stuff from the 60's thru to the 80's. Sounds like my kinda place. I like dive bars. and i wont be tempted by the Vespas! PS, I'm stealing that phrase/word and will claim it as my own...... Just an FYI

lonewolf99
If any of you out there in TV land think 38 is old for a go go dancer you dont get out much these days.... This place caters for all tastes, they have midget women, giant lady boys, small lady boys, young birds, fat young birds, old tarts, fat old tarts, and some skinny ones to boot. If any of them are your GF...I apologise for being my usual blunt descriptive self. I believe in the past they were caught with under age females as well. Well.....so I have been reliably informed from a friend who went there once...for the music..... Edited January 30, 2016 by lonewolf99

jmccarty
Why don't they just say Jomtien instead of Banglamung? Stab is the standard English word. Shank is slang. Are you English, by the way? I always love it when Mexican-Americans have to explain the English language to Brits,
rooster59
Corkscrew fight outside Pattaya Go-Go Bar PATTAYA: In the early hours of Saturday, a worker at one of Pattaya’s oldest Go-Go Bars, was attacked by a work colleague with a corkscrew and sustained serious stab wounds to her neck and arms.Police and medics were called to the front of the “We are No.1” Go-Go Bar close to Jomtien Beach where Khun Pornchitar aged 38 was lying on the ground covered in blood.Nearby was Khun Nikom aged 29, who confessed to attacking the victim with a corkscrew but she claims it was in self-defense. Both work inside the bar as dancers and have been involved in a long-running dispute over the same customer. The pair decided they would try to clear their issues at the front of the bar at the end of their shift, but the situation soon turned violent when they were unable to settle their differences. MickRobbo
Can someone please explain to the general Thai community that self defence is not 'getting in first' - furthermore what good is CCTV when nothing is done seriously with the evidence to prevent these types of behavioural patterns. This place is still lawless and could be deemed as getting worse, could be Junta related (mention no specific names) but his behaviour is ridiculous and is considered acceptable (section:44)

You put the opposition in hospital for the night. Obviously. Cannot understand why she didnt get picked up for the night. Maybe the thought of sleeping with one eye open and the possible mistranslation of " you can screw me tonight then".
