February 16, 201610 yr Khmer Times / Chea Vannak As the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) raises Cambodia’s profile as a member of one of the world’s largest trade zones, investors around the world are considering Cambodia as a gateway to the region and it should take advantage of this opportunity by diversifying its economic base, a senior government advisor said. Mey Kalyan, senior advisor to the government’s Supreme National Economic Council, said it was time for Cambodia to outgrow its reliance on garment exports to a more diversified range of products for export.
