A 24-hour hotline number 1699 opened to serve flood victims

BANGKOK: -- The Ministry of Public Health has launched a 24-hour hotline service at 1699 for flood victims to call for boats and medical teams without any charge, while ordering the Public Health officials to be cautious of flood-related diseases.

The Public Health Minister, Md. Mongkhol Na Songkhla (มงคล ณ สงขลา), visited the flood-affected people in Singburi (สิงห์บุรี) Province. He ordered for the Flood-related Information and Consultation Center to be set up in each inundated area. He said that hospitals will dispatch their medical teams to take emergency patients to the nearest hospitals.

Moreover, Md. Mongkhol has warned people of flood-related diseases such as cholera, leptospilosis, diarrhea, and conjunctivitis. He has emphasized people to drink clean water and take care of their hygiene.
