BANGKOK, 19 February 2016 (NNT) – Deputy Prime Minister Gen Thanasak Patimaprakorn has led a group of envoys on a tour of a cultural market displaying Thai cultural goods.

Gen Thanasak was joined by Minister of Culture Weera Rojpojanarat in leading diplomats from 15 countries to see the cultural market of the Siam Land of Smiles event.

In welcoming the envoys, Gen Thanasak explained that Siam Land of Smiles was created under the theme “Cultural Capital for Building the Nation” with an aim to aid sellers of Thai cultural goods and to allow consumers to see products that represent Thailand’s communities. The event also features cultural performances and displays of local wisdom.

The theme for the cultural market this week is “happiness building” while next week products related to Makha Bucha Day will be on offer. So far as many as 100 thousand people have visited the fair, which is running until February 26.
