Thai Premier League and Division 1 soccer tournaments to start on March 5

BANGKOK: National police chief Pol Gen Chakthip Chaichinda has been appointed president of Premier League Thailand Company by the president of the Football Association of Thailand, Pol Gen Somyot Poompunmuang.

1902002At the FAT board meeting today chaired by Pol Gen Somyot, the meeting agreed to postpone the opening of the 2016 season of Thai Premier League and Division One League soccer tournaments from February 26 to March 5. The Division Two League is due to open on March 26.

All soccer teams are required to re-register for the competitions as the Premier League Thailand Company which is responsible for holding the competitions will have to check all the clubs and their licenses, said the FAT president.
