Officer who took photos under the skirt of a woman surrenders to his boss

LAMPANG: -- A police officer who was seen in a widely-distributed video footage using a smartphone to take photos under the skirt of a woman at a convenience store in Lampang has been penalized by his superior.

The unidentified police officer who is attached to the training centre of the 5th region provincial police bureau based in Lampang has reported himself to his superior, Pol Col Phisit Homsilp, chief of the training centre, on Wednesday.

The officer reportedly claimed that he acted out of fun and had no intention whatsoever to defame or shame the woman. Police said they have to wait for the woman in the incident to show up to file a formal complaint against the officer before any legal action would be taken against him.

But for the time being, disciplinary action has already been taken against him.

"....gently fined..." Huh? What does that mean? Pattaya's innocent bridge players were treated with more contempt. Maybe upskirting is a lesser crime than playing cards? Time to put away the cards and clean the camera lenses.

I wonder if "farang" did that he would be "gently fined"?

"The commander said the woman seen in the clip did not file a complaint with police." I guess that will minimise the fine and mitigate the criminal circumstance. To this day she probably still does not know what happened! coffee1.gif TIT

Get this CCTV clip and show it to his family, relations and villagers for 3 months. Keep that Bt500 fine.

I STRONGLY DISAGREE.

Suppose he has a wife and kids.....should they be haunted at the schoolyard or her in the supermarket and neighborhood.??

Remove him from the promotion list!

How can the BIB ever expect to be respected when it seems they can do almost anything and escape real punishment ?

They are so proud of their supposedly fine reputation that they have no hesitation of using the law of defamation to protect it.

It was reported on Monday that a member of the NLA has been summoned for passing on a LINE message he had received about an army general supposedly involved in position buying in the police.

DPM Prawit has supported the summons saying the police had taken action because their community had been discredited and no one would let their community be undermined.

The only ones who really discredit the police are the BIB themselves and they get away with it.

I bet if a Farang was caught doing an up-skirt photo it wouldn't be a paltry 500 baht fine..coffee1.gif

For the locals, a 500 baht fine is hardly a deterrent. There will probably be a few more chancing their arm now that they know the fine, doesn't fit the crime... whistling.gif

Did you mean just Western caucasians ? Or, as I suspect, you meant foreigners.

And he is attached to the training centre.. Well he'll teach the new recruits proper police conduct.. Finally law and order under those skirts coming to LOS ..land of scams

...and this guy trains them.....???

...an abhorrent act of a perverse sexual nature.....and highly unacceptable in a civilized world = 'fun' ???

...and you can clearly see that he was attempting to do it again.....

What a bargain! The last time immigration tried to extort me it was for 800 bht!

I guess I should be out committing real crimes instead of honestly following the horrendously translated "Thai Law".

Every member of the ROYAL Thai Police should be made to stand in front of a picture of His Majesty at the close of every shift and say out loud "I am proud of everything I did while acting in your name today" ... and when cases like this one come up they should be dragged to the palace to say it in person.

Use Thai culture to change Thai culture.

Recently Prawit commented that Yingluck was being followed by BiB b/c she is a "sexy woman".

Given how faithfully the RTP uphold the law, maybe he wasn't joking?

That is an absolutely excellent idea. For things like this, they should make a spectacle of it by either making him do that in front of high ranking superiors or by recording and posting the recording.

I tried it while teaching in an English Program last year because of rampant plagiarism. 30 students in a class yielded 3 semi-original works and a bunch of copies with varying degrees of fidelity to the originals. I made them all write apologies to the King for lying and cheating. There was no support from admin, so the kids just wrote 3 semi-original apologies and a bunch of copied apologies with varying degrees of fidelity to the original apology to His Majesty for lying and cheating. TITS.

(My story aside, it is, honestly, an excellent idea.)

Without commenting on the part of your post that might be considered sensitive, the problem here in Thailand is that there is little honor or shame. Can't shame the shameless. I think it would have no impact at all.

Thailand has meanwhile a a thoroughly brutalized society without values!

That's amazing Thailand: shame on you!

"The officer reportedly claimed that he acted out of fun..." What grown man gets fun out of taking pictures up a girls skirt....a perverted man thats for sure. This is setting yet another fine example of the kind of people that are employed in the Royal Thai Police....time to clean up your act. Fired him immediately

So, getting caught playing bridge is a far more serious crime than being a pervert and being caught. The mind boggles.
