Domestic flight - Payment options

Featured Replies

So I tried to book a flight from bangkok to Udon thani Online. I went as far as the ''choose payment option'' page but there is no payment option for Paypal or direct banking transfer! Only with creditcard, which I do not have! And no plans in getting one as I do not need it in my everyday life in my country.

There are other options such as counter, mobile and cash payment in stores such as 7-11 but those are all Thai or other south east asian companies, which I am not eligible to. I tried all the possible airlines that goes that route; tiger air, air asia, nok air, lion air and thai smile. None has paypal or online bank transfer options.

So this means people from Europe without a creditcard can't book a Thailand domestic flight online? Funny..........

I hope there ist an answer that I am wrong and there is a method to book online for Europeans.

Thanks.

What do you mean you are not eligible to?

Anyone with hard cash Thai baht can pay for a domestic flight in 7/11 or Tesco lotus etc.

I've used this payment method numerous times only about a month ago.

You simply print the payment slip off and or get a scanned picture on your phone with a barcode etc it's simple.

Yes I know. But I am not in Thailand right now and my country does not have this option, no 7-11 or tesco.

Then you need to use someone like sky scanner and avoid using the airline web sites direct if you can.

A travel agent in your country would be a good option if you do not have a credit card, and can not use any of the Thai based payment systems such as domestic bank transfer or counter service.

Thank you sir!

Perfect answer what i was looking for. Cheers!

Just saying:

Check domestic price before booking at an agent in your country (compare).

Consider whether you need to book in advance.

Excellent point. Unless it's close to a popular holiday, you can usually purchase seats on a Bangkok-Udon Thani flight same day as you are flying.

whistling.gif I am in Thailand.....Bangkok area.....I live here as a U.S. retiree.

I assure you that you do not need a credit card or such to book flights to Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, or other destinations in South East Asia.

I am an old "dinosaur"....70 years next October....but I have not forgotten over 50 years of traveling around Asia and how to locate the city offices and airport booking offices of the local airlines where you can book and obtain an air ticket and pay for it by CASH....without requiring a credit card to do so.

Since I retired to Thailand in 2010I have flown to over half a dozen different cities in South East Asia....without a credit card or booking on line.

Don't get me wrong....I am computer literate.....having worked with computers for many years before before I retired.

It's just that I can, if I wish to, do things without a computer because I can still remember how it was done "before computers".

So you're telling the OP to go to the office of Thai Smile, Nok Air. Thai Air Asia or Lion Air in Germany, France, US, or whereever the OP is?
