A bit Crazy, but serious Request for help...

I am looking for anywhere in Thailand where I can purchase a High Quality Kingsize "Flat" bed sheet... I have lived here in Kalasin / Issan for the past 15 years and have always slept under a single sheet while my wife sleeps under the Comforter... In the past I have always been able to purchase Quality "Flat"" sheets at both Index Living Mall and at Robinson's, but now neither one stocks such items... I am hoping that there might be somewhere in Bangkok that I could order "On Line" or have a friend down that way go in to purchase for me... When I say "Quality", I would like something 100% Cotton and with a "Thread Count" for at least 350 per inch or higher, hopefully in the 400 to 500 range, but would settle for just about any Decent, Kingsize, "Flat" sheet....

Any and All suggestions or Advice will be Gratefully Appreciated...

Silk sheets are pretty good. Not sure if they are cooler than cotton though..

Good luck in your quest; sorry I cannot be of any assistance in this particular matter..

Silk sheets are horrible IMHO. Definitely not cooler than good cotton, since they don't breathe, and they don't absorb sweat during the night

Lazada has numerous options, take a look here, and save a trip to Bangkok

definitely not the country for silk bed sheets, I swat a bucket using a silk underwear, can't imagine

having to sleep on a slippery, sweaty thing.....

+1 Anyone who has been here for some time will tell you the same.

there is a hotel supply company on pattaya south road that stocks them, must be somewhere in bangkok that does the same.

google search here - https://www.google.co.th/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=hotel%20supply%20bangkok

and looks like a good shop here - http://www.ihrs-asia.com/products/bed-linen.shtml

That's what I was thinking ...... book into one of the hotels with a partner ...

next morning take the bed sheet with you blink.png

Robinsons sell quilt covers,King size.

Maybe that would be a solution.

Or you could dismantle one and end up with two sheets.

After a trip to a local seamstress.

Buy the Material and get them made, its only a rectangle after-all.

Should be easy enough in Thailand with the amount of machinists around.

The altering of a cover above is good idea too.

Have you checked "homepro" ?

Flat (i.e. non-fitted) sheets are a rarity in Thailand, though there are places you can get them. I got mine, single size, at Worarot Market in Chiangmai.

I tried HomePro in Buriram; no success.

Lazada is your best bet.

Central Chidlom in Bangkok has a good selection at a good range of quality and patterns. We can get sheets in Chiang Mai but the the selection of quality and patterns is limited. We stock up every few years during a trip to Bangkok (after having taken out a bank loan -- only kidding, but it's amazing how expensive good sheets are here)

Makro in Udon Thani had them about a year ago. All white. Don't know the quality.

Funny, I had the same exact problem, really bizarre huh, only fitted sheets about...........had Mums ship from the U.S. (bless her soul).

How about Amazon? They ship via DHL.

If youre really stuck Ill be back to the UK in 3 months for 6 weeks, i always get mine there, Egyptian cotton could bring some back with me, they arent cheap though unless you want them wafer thin or ask a local hotel where they get theres'

so thats why my bed never has a flat sheet and always just a comforter. always though it was just coincidence or an inept maid.

I went through this when I refitted my condo. Queen matresses are made and sold but the sheets are not, or was it King? "Thailand no haaaab". A real mindscrambler.

Easy enough to get sheets and duvet covers altered by local seamstress.

As Charlie says and also there are loads of Thailand based bedding companies online. Here`s one for a start. http://www.lotusbedding.com/EN/

As Los1 mentioned, Makro is the place. They stock the Aro brand (think it is) with a high nap/stitch (?) count... the type of linen and towels you get in good hotels. Central/Robinsons et al will charge you a load more for same thing.

I've found that the kiosks that operate in the mall outside of the BigC and TESCO near my home (Rama 4) have significantly better prices on bedding than the big stores do. Can't say they have flat sheets, though since I don't use them.

Thanks to all for the thoughts and Ideas.... Nice to know that I am not the only person who prefers using a "Flat" sheet rather than sleeping under a Comforter... I had not thought about taking a Comforter Cover and having it cut and a hem sowed on it.. Also I will check Makro as I never even considered that they would have something like that... Yes, I have tried Home Pro, Index Living Mall, and Robinson's... Also tried the Big C in both Kalasin and Roi Et, but did not check either the Big C, nor new Baan And Beyond store at Big C in Khon Kaen... Lazada and all Hotel Supply websites that I checked only listed "Bedding Sets" which they say are "4 Piece," "fitted Sheet, Comforter Cover, 2 pillow cases....

I will continue my search, and if nothing else buy a Quality Comforter Cover and have it cut apart... Thank again...

That is what my wife did here at home. No problem.

I am a little curious. The way some posters posted here it sounds like they wear out on them real fast.

Mental image be gone.

what I do about this is the following;

i go to a tailor on sukhumvit/bkk (one I have known for years and one who doesnt overprice me)

i look at shirt material fabric (pure cotton) find stuff I like and order a sheet XX feet by XX feet

not expensive, and any defects with the material would be my own mistake'

I'm happy with this

Anybody looking in Pattaya they have them in the bed linen section at the Outlet Mall - the end nearest Tesco Lotus.

I was wandering through the other day and the sales girl showed me several starting with a 400 thread count - I think it was 1745 baht on offer from memory..........
