SURAT THANI:-- A Frenchman caught red handed growing marijuana in Koh Samui on Sunday claimed the ten plants in his kitchen were for personal use.

Bo Phut police, however, thought differently and Jirou James Marcell Andy (sic), 50, was duly charged with production and possession and arrested. In addition to the plants a quantity of drug paraphernalia and other evidence was also seized.

Acting on a tip off tourist police and officers from Bo Phut led by investigator Surachet Hakpan surprised the Frenchman at his rented house in the northern beach area of the holiday island of Samui. Police suspect that he was selling drugs to tourists as well as the general public.

In his kitchen they found flower pots containing at least ten plants with specialist lighting apparatus used for growing the drugs indoors. He told officers that the drugs were for himself but this was rejected when several packets prepared for sale were also found in the house along with other drug materials.

He was charged with production and possession of a class 5 drug (marijuana) before being taken away for further questioning.

look at the single light and tiny pots, so close to the light. The plants would have to have been very small. Very likely this amount WAS for personal consumption (5 starter plants plus 5 in veg taking 12-16 weeks to grow. Still illegal there he would have been better off buying from the police guy or his buddy

They consider this production of drugs even if you only have 1 tree. 10 trees are a lot and it may result in a longer jail sentence. The law here and other parts of Asia is very strict about drugs. Best to stay far away from it.

If he pays enough he may reduce the charges to possession and get off with a fine, but with the new immigration laws he will have to wait before coming back.

If he doesn't have money, it's too bad for him. Forget about whether cannabis should be legal or not. In Rome ...

Legalize it, tax it, sell it. It's so easy.

ANOMOLIES IN THE GARDEN.

Exactly and "Yes your honour I am 'GUILTY' of protecting and enhancing the low impact growth of one of God's weeds, which occurrs naturally in his paradisical garden.

A weed he put their for our common advantage. This weed has many uses for the inhabitants of the garden, including improving their mood, usually causing them to feel more peaceful and harmonious. . .. and other even more beneficial purposes such as for medicine, food, fuel, paper, rope, maps, bricks, oil, paint, and furniture.

As long as there is cheaper and easier MONEY to be made by making the weed illegal and then fining people for 'having' the weed around them, I guess Satan's cheap farts will get their evil rocks off while attempting to fill their bottomless greed."

He should have paid the hooker well.

The marijauna trade is closely guarded, and anyone with a superior product soon finds that out.

Time is now for this part of the world to start growing up outdoors, higher level of THC levels and good yields.

Nature will take care of the sunlight as long as you have a insect net you'll be fine

Wait up for the flowering time then crop and dry properly and you're on your way
