Cambodian Top Team Fighters Ready for Thai Test

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) will take center stage in Thailand over the next few months as ONE Championship, Asia’s largest mixed martial arts promotion, makes its long awaited debut in May. But by the time ONE brings its juggernaut to the land of smiles, Full Metal Dojo will already have hosted its tenth MMA showpiece in the birthplace of Muay Thai.

Its latest incarnation has been dubbed Full Metal Dojo (FMD) 10: To Live and Die in Bangkok; and is set for the Insanity Nightclub on Saturday evening with a duo of Cambodians on the fightcard for Thailand’s premier MMA promotion.

Thai Rithy and Sim Bunsrun will be representing the Kingdom in their matches against Thai opponents. Cambodian Top Team coach Chan Reach is confident his charges will be able to pull off a pair of famous victories. “We will fight hard for our nation. Win or lose we will give it everything we got. To show the true heart of a Cambodian warrior,” said the Brooklyn-native.

Rithy himself is no stranger to the FMD cage, holding a 1-1 record in his two previous outings for the promotion. The young talent was on the losing side in his last appearance at FMD7: Full Metal Massacre in October 2015, suffering a loss to accomplished Czech fighter Jaroslav Jartim. He had previously stopped Swede Fabian Petersson at FMD4: Once Upon a Time in Bangkok with a rear-naked choke. He will now face dangerous Thai featherweight Veerayuth Uttapan.
