Cambodian Diaspora Urged to Invest Back Home

Cambodians who live abroad should be taking advantage of opportunities to invest in the Kingdom, despite the fact that skilled labor remains a problem, an advisor to the government said Friday.

Cambodia now provides good returns on investments in the goods and services sectors, Sok Siphana, an advisor to the government, said in the public lecture “AEC and the prospects for Cambodian entrepreneurs,” referring to the Asean Economic Community.

Mr. Siphana said that while Cambodia welcomes investment from all nationalities, overseas Cambodians had more opportunities than others. “They are competitive, they are native speakers with advanced technical knowledge and if they can find partners, they will have more opportunities to invest in the country,” he said.
