Oink
The paint on my number plates is cracking and peeling off. I guess you do not just get pots of black and white paint and repaint yourself. Does anyone know the procedure to get replacement plates? Thanks
stevenl
Go to dlt with blue book and ask for replacements. They can prepare for a fee
Broken Record
Same thing is happening on my car, anyone know how long it takes to get the plates once you have shown the blue book ?
Gonsalviz
Just get it repainted. Have you never seen the scenic paintings on Thai plates? Got to cost less and be far less hassle.
Langsuan Man
It will probably be free since there was a bad batch of plates issued by the LTO a couple of years ago and believe it or not they replaced them all with a minimum of fuss This was in Pattaya but I think that it was Thailand wide problem

Scenic paintings means the plates were bought at auction, probably classified as defacing if you do it yourself.
NUUM
Before painting remember that you do not own the plates...
johng
Don't paint them the police could class them as fake number plates and issue quite a hefty fine. If you look closely at your new plates you'll see the background paint has holographic images imbeded many people (motor cyclists) have been fined for cutting their plates to a smaller size removing the round hologram in one corner.
