Mosque attacks in Britain hit alarming levels, says Muslim Trust

Mosques across Britain are being targeted at an average rate of one attack every five days, according to new figures released by the British Muslim Trust, which has warned that anti-Muslim hostility is becoming increasingly widespread.

The organisation recorded more than 70 attacks on mosques over the past year, ranging from vandalism and property damage to intimidation, harassment, online abuse and violent incidents.

Major cities worst affected

London recorded the highest number of attacks, with nine incidents reported over the past 12 months.

Greater Manchester and the West Midlands were also identified as major hotspots, while one mosque in Birmingham was targeted three separate times during the year.

The British Muslim Trust says the figures point to a worrying upward trend that requires a stronger government response.

Hate crime continues to rise

Official Home Office data shows anti-Muslim hate crime in England and Wales increased by 19 per cent in the year to March 2025.

British Muslim Trust chief executive Akeela Ahmed said mosques should not have to wait until they are attacked before qualifying for government protection.

"A mosque is vulnerable simply because it is a mosque," she said, arguing that current funding rules leave many communities exposed while applications are processed.

Security funding under scrutiny

The Government has pledged up to £40 million to improve security at mosques, Muslim schools and community centres through measures such as CCTV, alarms, fencing and security staff.

However, the Trust says many mosques face lengthy delays, with some waiting up to 18 months for applications to be processed.

It also claims a number of applications have been rejected without clear explanations, leaving vulnerable communities frustrated and concerned for their safety.

The organisation is urging ministers to simplify the process and devolve funding so security improvements can be delivered more quickly.

Public attitudes raise concern

The warning comes after a recent study by the British Muslim Trust and British Future found that one in six people in Britain believe the growth of the Muslim population poses a threat to British culture.

The groups said the findings suggest anti-Muslim attitudes are becoming more socially acceptable and risk fuelling further hostility.

Government promises faster action

A Home Office spokesperson described anti-Muslim hate crime as "appalling" and said Muslims should not only be safe but feel safe.

The department said funding for protective security at mosques and Muslim community sites has been increased to record levels and insisted efforts are being made to process applications more quickly.

The British Muslim Trust says that unless action is taken soon, attacks on places of worship are likely to continue rising, placing both communities and religious institutions under growing pressure.

Would the British Muslim Trust care to tell us how many Muslim children have been raped by non-Muslim gangs, how many Muslim children have been blown up by islamaphobic people, how many muslim children have been stabbed to death by non-muslims, and how many muslims have been attacked and had their eyes and neck stabbed by fundamentalist non-muslims?

Is this including the hoax where 12 "far right" people were mysteriously arrested and released gor supposedly planning an attack on a jihadi holiday camp at an English country manor?

Arrested with much fanfare, knocked the Widdecombe slaughter from the news then quietly released without so much as a wimper.

Sure🤣

Probably fabricated attacks like the "terror threat" announced recently to take attention from the slaying of Ann Widdicombe.

Eight released over alleged threat to Shrubland Hall Islamic event

image.png

The only charges were ones completely unrelated to any "terror" attack.

"Hey, look over there - FAR RIGHT. We will not tolerate these far right criminals". A few moments later... "OK, let them go, they've served their purpose".

Later that day...

"No evidence of a political motive in the slaying of Ann - move along - don't speculate or we'll jail you".

There was no attack Higgot. It was made up. They've all been released. No charges related to any terror threat.

Of course that didn't stop your clowns Starmer/Mahmood shooting their mouths off before they knew all the facts.

What was that about "not speculating"? Oh sorry, that only applies to left wing extremism.

Still, it deflected from the Widdicombe terrorist slaying for a few days, which was the whole point. Very little speculation on that one. No condemnation of "extreme left terrorists". Funny that...

Which is not evidence to support your baseless conspiracy:

Probably fabricated attacks like the "terror threat" announced recently to take attention from the slaying of Ann Widdicombe”

On the upside, your fetid imagination never leaves you short of an explanation for things you don’t understand.

It's no conspiracy that they warned us not to speculate about the Ann Widdicombe terrorist slaying while themselves speculating about the "Far right terror attack on Muslims" that turned out to be a massive nothing burger.

As for governments deflecting from [cough] "problematic" events, I seem to recall you claiming Trump was doing a similar thing re. the Epstein files. Conspiracies for me but not for thee. Leftist hypocrisy 101 raises it's ugly head again.

So the British Muslim Trust released false data just in time to provide a provide a distraction to the Ann Widdicombe murder?

A more believable explanation is your fetid imagination has got the better of you.

No.

I believe the Woke, inept, 2 tier police blew up a completely unfounded suspicion of an attack on Muslims into a "credible, serious threat" which the left wing media were more than happy to run with. While simultaneously trying to downplay the actual, real, brutal slaying of right of centre politician Anne Widdicombe (and telling us not to speculate on it) which the left wing media were more than happy to put somewhere at the bottom of page 27.

Then Starmer, salivating at the mouth at the prospect of "standing up for our Muslims against the evil far right" in his final days, couldn't resist running his mouth off about it with the same wild speculation that he forbids us from doing, and once again made a complete tit of himself.

Clear now, Higgot?

While I don't condone attacks on mosques when there are people inside the building, I'm quite surprised that there are not more incidents of this kind. IMHO, all mosques should be banned in the UK, and either converted into places of worship for other, more peaceful religions, or the building demolished. Islam has demonstrated time and time again that its practices are not aligned with British culture.

Saudi Arabia bans all public places of worship that are not Islam.... why can't we take a leaf out of their book?

I’m sure you believe a lot of things Jonny.

What you don’t have is any evidence to link this report to your claimed Ann Widdecombe conspiracy.

Starmer doesn’t feature in the OP and he’s no longer the Prime Minster.

Time to move on Jonny.

It is not about the British people hating other cultures. What is is about is the way the Muslim arrivals want to get rid of the British way of life and impose their own on the country.

As always the UK news media try to make out that all the illegals that have entered the country are Scientists, Doctors and Engineers. In reality it appears that a lot have back grounds in somewhat extreme cults and want to force their ideology on the British people.

Once again critical information is missing.

How many incidents involving all religious buildings in the UK are attacked? What's the actual rate of attacks?

What are these attacks? Are they actual violent incidents or are some of them the result of neighbours venting frustration because of loudspeakers blaring the call to muslim prayers at 3:30 AM or attendees blocking streets and driveways with their vehicles on Fridays when they go to the mosque?

We see that mosques are frequently blown up elsewhere as factions feud. E.g. Pakistan. Islamic State claims responsibility for attack on Shiite mosque that killed at least 31 in Pakistan during Friday prayers and wounded more than 169. The UK has a large population of.Pakistanis , Bengalis and Indians who brought their hatreds with them.
