BANGKOK: -- About 11 million baht worth of antiques and works of art which were confiscated from former Central Investigation Bureau commissioner Pol Lt-Gen Pongpat Chayaphan were returned to the Fine Arts Department on Tuesday by the Anti-Money Laundering Office.

AMLO deputy secretary-general Pol Lt-Col Aim-on Chaibuadaeng said that over 20,000 pieces of valuables were seized from Pongpat and, of these, 472 pieces are antiques and works of art which belong to the state and should be returned to the Fine Arts Department for safe keeping.

The returned pieces are divided into three groups: antique gold and silver wares; antique potteries and sculptures.
