He seems to have been around since the beginning of time...still revered in his own country...a hero who stood-up to American attempts to micro-manage Cuba...the price Cuba has paid...to remain locked in time...little has progressed since the 1950s in Cuba... Yes ...locked in time....just little progress since the 50's... Cuba...Nobody sleeps on the streets anymore. Cuba...Free high education and free medical to everybody....even for some foreign students. Cuba...More medical doctors per people in the world. Cuba...# 1 in Solar Power in the Americas Cuba...# 1 in Organic Farming in the world Cuba # 1 in Cancer Research and treatment in the Americas Cuba # 1 in AIDS prevention and treatment in the Americas Cuba # 1 in historical architecture restoration in the Americas Cuba # 1 in lowest unemployment in the Americas Cuba # 1 in lowest criminality in the Americas Cuba # 1 in lowest illegal drugs use in the Americas And all that...after 50 years of economic embargo imposed by the US and its Allies. And before you do ask.... Like most countries in the world, Cuba has its share of people looking in get the US "refugee" status at any cost, for a free ride to live under its Government benefits. Not anymore. Cuba is in the way to become a "democratic" country again, by the US standards, like during the Batista times.
