KOH SAMUI: A large number of tourists, Thai and foreign, have visited major attractions on Samui island off Surat Thani province during the Songkran holiday.

isup SamuiThe popular tourist spots included Phra Yai Koh Fan temple, in Bophut county where the biggest Phraphutthakhodom image in the southern region is enshrined on top of the hill.

Besides, Thai and foreign tourists joyfully swam in hot weather at famous Chaweng beach on Samui island. They took photos and ate food with their family members on the beach. Songkran celebrations on Koh Samui island were expected to generate a large amount of revenue.

"Tourists flock on Koh Samui island during Songkran holiday"

I imagine tourists probably flock on Koh Samui before, and after Songkran holiday. Slow news day?

The queue of cars trying to board mainland-bound ferrys went right around the loop between police station and post office when I entered Nation from the North this afternoon!

Great photo for the article, an empty beach... Never seen that on Samui, must be Khanom smile.png

No Carlos, !!! Samui has many nice empty beaches.... even in the real high season! We could match Khanom any day tongue.png

One place even flogging off beer cheap.... 45b for Singha small, 60b for large bottle... nice spot to watch the sunset too!

Tourists flock on Koh Samui island

I often think there's just too many flocking tourists, many of whom arrive on flocking tour buses and block the flocking walkways.

Well, we got here before Songkran, and we are still here. And there is imho no bloom of tourists! Not many 'tourists' would drive a car here. (re: ferry back-up of vehicles).

It is def LOW season 7 nice and quiet. Heaps of room at main Chaweng beach, as usual.
