Tourists flock on Koh Samui island during Songkran holiday

KOH SAMUI: A large number of tourists, Thai and foreign, have visited major attractions on Samui island off Surat Thani province during the Songkran holiday.

isup SamuiThe popular tourist spots included Phra Yai Koh Fan temple, in Bophut county where the biggest Phraphutthakhodom image in the southern region is enshrined on top of the hill.

Besides, Thai and foreign tourists joyfully swam in hot weather at famous Chaweng beach on Samui island. They took photos and ate food with their family members on the beach. Songkran celebrations on Koh Samui island were expected to generate a large amount of revenue.

Great photo for the article, an empty beach... Never seen that on Samui, must be Khanom smile.png

No Carlos, !!! Samui has many nice empty beaches.... even in the real high season! We could match Khanom any day tongue.png

One place even flogging off beer cheap.... 45b for Singha small, 60b for large bottle... nice spot to watch the sunset too!

Well, we got here before Songkran, and we are still here. And there is imho no bloom of tourists! Not many 'tourists' would drive a car here. (re: ferry back-up of vehicles).

It is def LOW season 7 nice and quiet. Heaps of room at main Chaweng beach, as usual.
